Why practise Yin yoga?

Writer's picture: Vikki Vikki

In our Yang, flow style of practise we lengthen and strengthen our muscles. The breath linked with movement gives our practise a focus, a rhythm.

A yin practise is one of stillness, of settling with the body as it is. We hold the postures for longer so that we can relax the muscles and invite energy to the connective tissues, nourishing your joints by caring for tendons, ligaments and the muscle facia that webs the body.

The practises balance one another. Yin yoga is an incredibly powerful practise to regulate your nervous system, the antidote to modern living, we notice... It's a more honest reflection of how we are, in the pose, in life.

Weekly yin classes 7.15-8.15PM, straight after our Vinyasa practise; the perfect balance! All @ The Works Studio, Badcox, Frome
